ROYAL Cargo Combined Logistics, Inc (RCCLI) has tapped the services of local company Information Managers Inc. (Infoman) to roll out manufacturing business software at its new food processing facility in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, officials said last week.

Infoman who has recently been appointed as sole distributor of QAD software in the Philippines, helped RCCLI automate the new food processing plant in four months, according to Bernard Yu, vice chairman and chief executive officer of Infoman. It went live in December 2005

RCCLI spent less than five million pesos to turn its dry and cold storage facilities into a contract facility that will process different types of food, the executive said.

Yu said that the automotive and the food and beverage industry are currently driving demand for manufacturing business software

He said that there are other QAD clients in the Philippines, including Red Ribbon, Baby Foods (distributor of Ovaltine products), Ford Philippines, Sara Lee, and Lear Corp., Yu said.

Worldwide, QAD has over 8,000 customer sites, which includes 400 multinational companies. This company has more than 1,000 employees worldwide and revenues amounting to 231 million dollars during fiscal year 2005, which ends January.
